ADDICTION

SUPPORT&
Intervention

Kim Stewart

As a recovery coach, my focus is on providing coaching and interventions for families, friends, and associates navigating the challenges of recovery,

Addiction Support & Intervention

If you, or a member of your family, someone you know well, or work closely with can't stop or control an addiction on their own, then its time to think about getting help.

Addictive behaviour doesn't only effect the person, it effects their families, their work and all of their relationships. Families and people around the "addict" can help them by setting boundaries and offering  a more structured support system. This is one of the toughest challenges to face, as people in recovery have a tendency to be very self-centered, they tend to focus on themselves and their own needs.

Whether it's substance addiction or activity addiction, it's a place we go to not be present, to be accepted, to fit-in to other people's judgments of us. It's a choice we've made to accept other people's judgments, we end up judging ourselves and giving up on who we really are.

Addiction is a limitation, it disables our ability to be fully human. Let's work together and switch the limitations to possibilities, wouldn't it be nice to recognize them and change them if we wanted to? What if I told you that judgment is arbitrary?  Join me, together we can release these destructive beliefs.

Support and Interventions help set boundaries, calm a situation, mediate, and help avoid escalation.

Interventions  involve caring family, friends and colleagues who want to be active participants in the recovery process. You know they need help but don't know where to start? Or, you may have tried and become frustrated with the confrontations and repeated relapses, only to find that your efforts have enabled the addictive behaviour even more.

Addicts also have a story

People in recovery will face scenarios that are foreign to most other people. They have friends, partners and work environments (each of which have their own past) that fall outside of their own recovery journey, and these often make it difficult for them to navigate healthy and meaningful relationships going forward.

It is important to recognize that families are often taught enabling behaviour usually by the "addict" but sometimes family history,  workplace dynamics and other life events. Guilt, fear, hope  and  victimisation are some of the keystones of this.  All of the people involved, and their relationships with one another will have changed during the addiction and recovery process. All parties involved want and need things from their relationships.

Acknowleging the Emotional complexity

Rehab, unfortunately doesn't change their ecosystem, sometimes the very reason they became addicts in the first place. Change needs to happen here as well.  It is a very difficult space to be in, and most times, best done by someone outside, who has experience with these scenarios.

Families, and addicts often avoid interventions, because it's confrontational, uncomfortable and emotionally exhausting. It is a scary process and often opens a can of worms and raises the levels of drama, but it's important to realize that it is also transitional.

Access The Bars with Kim

Access Bars®

Access Bars® is a one-on-one gentle therapeutic technique that induces a state of deep relaxation that activates self-healing and opens a space of awareness in our bodies.

The effects of a Bars session vary from one person to the next. Among the most commonly reported effects of the therapy are an increased sense of peace and ease, being less reactive to stressful situations, more restful and deeper sleep, feeling that emotional clutter is cleared, more clarity and motivation in life, and easier changes...

Access Body Process with Kim

Access Body Process®

An Access Consciousness Body Process is a hands-on method that uses different hand placements on various positions on the body while asking specific energies to run at each spot. These processes facilitate the body back to its original functions, which assist with the repair and longevity of the body.

There are over 70 different energy body processes that allow your body to relax, receive and release the accumulated psycho-physical stress. At the same time, these processes assist in renewing and reactivating your own suppressed capacities for healing and changing.

This question alone starts to unlock bodies from limiting patterns.
